The oldest mining in the country
In the Schwarzleotal there are tracks of mining back to prehistoric times. Tracks that visitors can follow in the exhibition mine through the medieval tunnels. In its very special way, one of the oldest mines in the country comes back to life. For a short time you will dive into a world where miners spent most of their lives with hard work.
In single file through narrow tunnels …
In most of the show mines you take the train to visit. Not in the Leogang show mine. Here you will get an unspoiled impression of medieval mining. Therefore, you walk, sometimes stoop and in single file through the narrow tunnels.
Knappenstube
The Knappenstube “Unterberghaus” is the starting point for the guided tours and invites you to stay after the visit. Also, some very interesting mine maps of the Schwarzleo mining area can be seen here!
