Can I take my dog with me for free?
All owners of a KlimaTicket Österreich or Salzburg CLASSIC (also in the CLASSIC PLUS, U26, SPEZIAL, SENIOR | EDELWEISS and SEMESTER variants) are allowed to take a dog with them on buses and trains on the SVV lines free of charge. Please note the muzzle and leash requirement. (Lapped dogs that are housed in suitable containers travel free anyway.)
Taking your bike with you
Many people who leave their cars at home and take the train to get into the city still want to remain mobile once they arrive. That’s why more and more people are taking their bicycles with them on the train. All six versions of the KlimaTicket allow you to take your bicycle with you free of charge. Bicycles can be taken on local trains operated by ÖBB and the Salzburger and Pinzgauer Lokalbahn, but not on long-distance trains.
Salzburg Verkehr 2GO APP
With Salzburg Verkehr 2GO, using public transport in Salzburg has never been easier. You get on the bus or train, swipe the app and you are automatically registered for the journey. At the final stop, you swipe again to log out and the system then recognises the exact route you have travelled. If you travel frequently within the province during the week, the app calculates the cheapest ticket for that period in the background. This means you never pay more than a myRegio weekly ticket for all your journeys in a week.
