Kaprun Castle
The castle Kaprun in the heart of the Pinzgau – built in the 12th century.
The construction of Kaprun Castle is assumed to have been around the 12th century, as the east tower has Romanesque criteria. In 1280 the “Turn zu Chaprunne” is documented as compensation for the encroachments of the Velber. The chastle was probably initially owned by Counts Falkenstein or Peilstein.
Today it is a popular location for events.
