Celtic power place Naglköpfl

Enjoy stunning views from Naglköpfl, a dowsed power place that not only holds historical secrets of the Celts but also offers a unique energetic experience.

The mountains are full of treasures, stories and myths. Around 2,100 years ago, the river “Isonta” (now the Salzach) meandered through a valley covered with tall reeds. This ancient land was the home of the Ambisontes, a Celtic tribe from Illyria (today’s Albania and Macedonia) that settled in the Kingdom of Noricum.

Discoveries of pottery shards and preliminary surface excavations suggest that a miner’s settlement existed here as early as the late Bronze Age and early Hallstatt period, where copper was mined. The discovery of stone cist graves from the Hallstatt period in nearby Uttendorf suggests that traces of Celtic culture may also be present here.

Today, Naglköpfl is a magical power place that invites relaxation and recharge. On Naglköpfl stands a chapel adorned with four holy figures, adding to the mystical ambiance of the place. Just below, along the Kulturlandschaftsweg trail, there is a wooden charcoal kiln that recalls the traditional craftsmanship of bygone times. Our “Celtic Fairy Isonta” in the Piesendorf Niedernsill logo is a tribute to this historical period.
