Wegbeschreibung
The hike begins with a relaxed ride on the Gletscherjet I and Gletscherjet II, which conveniently takes you to the Alpincenter at about 2,450 m elevation. From here you already have an impressive view of the Kitzsteinhorn and the surrounding peaks. From the Alpincenter, follow the Alexander-Enzinger-Weg, a well-marked hiking trail that leads through beautiful alpine landscapes. The trail is partly steep but always easy to walk and offers magnificent views of the glacier panorama, alpine pastures, and dense forests. Along the way, the path eventually leads to Maiskogel at about 1,500 m elevation. Here you have a fantastic view of Lake Zell and the surrounding Tauern mountains, the perfect spot for a short break. After the break, you can start the return journey and use the K3 Konnection cable car, which takes you directly from Maiskogel back to Gletscherjet I. This cable car is a convenient way to complete the return trip quickly and comfortably without having to hike the entire way again. Once at Gletscherjet I, you can either take the cable car down to the valley or stay a little longer on the panorama terrace and enjoy the breathtaking view before descending to the valley. The entire hike including the use of the cable cars takes about 4-5 hours, depending on how many breaks you take and how much time you allow for the views. The Alexander-Enzinger-Weg is rated moderate, so you need good footwear and decent fitness to get the most out of this route. Also pay attention to the last cable car times to be able to use the cable cars in time.
