On the Gnome Trail to the summer toboggan run at Dürrnberg (Hallein)

Under the motto first hiking, then sledding, the children head up to the Zinkenkogel. The easy hiking route provides motivation and a spirit of discovery with 7 child-friendly gnome stations. As a reward, once they arrive at the Zinkenstüberl, there is a certificate and a reward ice cream for the children, who can then speed down into the valley on Salzburg’s longest summer toboggan run.

The route provides a varied day for the whole family and combines exercise, nature, and action.

The path leads along a well-marked forest road about 200 meters uphill to the Zinkenkogel. Along the way are seven gnome stations where various tasks can be solved. The children work with a compass, puzzle, solve geographic riddles, or use binoculars to look out for surrounding peaks.

At the top, there is not only a scoop of ice cream as a reward, but also a small petting zoo and playground await the children at the Zinkenstüberl. Adults can recharge with hearty home cooking in the cozy Zinkenstüberl before heading back down.

Downhill you can take the quick way with the summer toboggan run, for which a separate ticket must be purchased at the mountain station. Those who don’t want to can, of course, take the same path back to the starting point.
